Custums and Behaviour
Peruvian custums are relatively formal, and politeness is important. When people meet the men always shake hands, but the greeting between men and women, and women and women, is one hug with a kiss. It´s concidered impolite not to greet everybody, when you enter a house, and when you leave. Like in english the normal greeting is how are you? (como estas?). If you invite someone to go out the one who invite is the one to pay all the bill. Only suggesting going out is normally taken as an invitation and it´s expected that you pay. It is very rare if a woman ask for drinks in a bar, it has to be a man who invites. A man who let the woman pay in a bar or a restaurant, is not a good aspect. Going out one should dress modestly. Visiting a home, do not take off the shoes like they do in many countries. Taking off the shoes as a visitor, is offensive.
